Since June 2000, ‘Umang’ is engaged in a social task of rendering services to the Autistics and Slow Learner children. Over the years, due to the growing awareness of autism and slow learning, the number of children that require these services is consistently increasing. However, due to limited availability of infrastructure and resources, we at Umang are not able to cater to this increased demand to address this need.

Total number of children attended therapy in 2008-09 were 35. Thus ‘Umang’ has started a school for Autistic & slow Learners in which 30 Autistic children were enrolled in June’09. Presently Umang is conducting therapies on one to one basis. Number of admissions is expected to increase further over time, and taking into account the students who are already attending therapy since last 4-5 years, there is a need for additional infrastructure and resources.
