Umang Charitable Trust is a registered, non-governmental, not-for-profit organization committed to empowering children with autism, intellectual disabilities, developmental delays, and other associated disabilities. Founded with the vision that every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and live with dignity, Umang strives to make quality special education, therapy, and rehabilitation services accessible to all families, irrespective of their financial background.
Recognizing that children with special needs often require long-term, multidisciplinary intervention, Umang was established to bridge the gap between need and affordability. We believe that early identification, timely intervention, and continuous support can significantly enhance a child’s potential and improve their quality of life.

The journey of Umang began over 25 years ago with a simple yet powerful vision—to create a supportive and inclusive environment where children with special needs could receive comprehensive care under one roof.
What started as a small initiative has today grown into a trusted institution serving hundreds of children and their families across Mumbai and its neighbouring regions. Over the years, Umang has continuously expanded its services to address the diverse developmental, educational, therapeutic, and vocational needs of children with autism and other developmental disabilities.
Today, Umang operates three special schools located in Kandivali, Bhayandar, and Vasai, providing individualized education, therapeutic interventions, life skills training, vocational education, parent counselling, and community-based support. Our multidisciplinary team includes special educators, therapists, psychologists, counsellors, and trained professionals who work together to create personalised intervention plans for every child.
